지역사회 경찰활동과 범죄두려움에 관한 연구 : 한국내 결혼이주여성을 중심으로 = A Study on the Community Policing and the Fear of Crime -Focusing on the married immigrant women who reside in South Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리가 살아가는 일상생활 속에서 범죄 피해경험 뿐만 아니라 언론매체 등 간접적인 범죄에 대한 정보를 통하여 일반 시민들은 범죄두려움 그리고 사회적 불안감이 증대하고 있다. 우리나라가 복지국가를 지향하며 안전을 중시하는 선진국가의 대열에 들어서긴 했지만, 언제 어디서 발생할지 모르는 범죄에 대한 두려움과 불안감을 가지고 살아가는 것은 매우 힘든 일이다. 이러한 범죄두려움과 불안감은 비단 우리들만의 문제가 아니라 국제결혼을 선택하여 한국내에 거주하는 결혼이주여성들 역시 피부로 직접 느끼는 문제 중 하나이다. 특히 결혼이주여성들은 신분상의 특수성과 사회적 약자로 인해 범죄두려움과 불안감은 더욱 크다고 할 수 있다. 우리 모두가 원하는 안전한 사회를 구축하기 위해서는 무엇보다 경찰의 역할이 필요하다. 따라서 이 연구의 목적은 한국 내 지역사회에 거주하는 결혼이주여성이 인지한 지역사회 경찰활동과 범죄두려움의 관계를 검증하는데 있다. 연구결과 지역사회 경찰의 활발한 활동은 결혼이주여성에게 있어 범죄두려움을 적게 느낀다는 결과가 나타났다. 즉, 지역사회 경찰은 활동의 가시성을 확대할 필요가 있으며, 지역사회의 무질서와 지역문제의 해결 등에 적극 참여하여 결혼이주여성의 지역사회 적응을 위한 적절한 지원과 보다 많은 관심을 가져야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The general public's fear of crime and social anxiety have been highly increased by experiencing crime victimization and being porvided indirect crime information through media in their daily life. South Korea joins the ranks of advanced countries which aims for welfare state and safety-conscious country. However, south korean still live on fear of crime and social anxiety of crime which they do not know when and where to occur. Living on the fear and anxiety of crime would be quite tough. The foreign immigrant women who reside in South Korea also regard the fear and anxiety of crime as a serious issue. They have specialty of their status as foreigners and they also are considered as socially underprivileged. Due to these reason, married immigrate women live in great insecurity of crime and struggle to adapt themselves to unfamiliar environment in Korea.. The role of the police is absolutely paramount to construct safer community. Therefore, the purpose of this study would be examined the relation between the community policing and the fear of crime which were perceived by the married female immigrants in South Korea. The study has found that the married female migrants felt lower crime fear when the community police actively performs their role. Therefore, community police need to expand their activities and conduct their duties more active. They should actively participate in resolving the community disorders and community matters. And the more adequate supports for social integration of married female immigrants will be more concerned.
