문화적거리가 문화예술교육효과에 미치는 영향 : 새터민 청소년의 문화충격을 중심으로 = Influence of Cultural Distance on the Effect of Art Education - Focusing on Culture Shock of North Korean Youth Refugee

This study is concerned with the effect of culture education on the North Korean Youth Refugees from Multiculturalism Perspectives. The study is motivated by the recent changes in Korea with ever-growing culturally diverse immigrants, long-term and short-term. Notably, Refugees from North Korea and/or North Korean parent(s) are rapidly increasing in Korea. Yet, the Korean government has not properly dealt with the current situation. This study divides the above refugees into North Korean Refugees and The 3rd Country Refugees with North Korean Parent(s). This paper deals with the culture shock of the above groups and analyze the difference in culture shcok between both groups. We also discuss how art and culture education be of assistance for both groups to cope with their life in culturally different countries. We then provide policy implications for Korean government.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2007년 부터 급증하는 제3국 출신의 새터민 청소년의 문제가 새터민 청소년에 대한 범주에 대한 논의로 이어지는 것에 착안 하였다. 이에 문화예술교육을 통한 다(多)문화 관점으로서 북한이탈 및 중도입국 청소년에 대한 문화예술교육의 효과는 무엇이며 두 집단의 비교를 목적으로 한다. 본 연구방법으로 정성적 진단연구 반 구조화 질문체계 토대로 북한이탈 및 중도입국 청소년 집단 간의 비교를 통해 두 집단별 문화충격에 대한 차이점을 기술하고자 한다. 본 연구 결과로서 첫째로, 현 정부 역시 두 집단의 차이를 인식하고는 있지만, 두 집단의 세부적 특성과 차이는 파악하지 못하고 있다는 것이다. 두 집단 모두 ‘새터민 청소년’이라 불리지만, 실제적으로 성장한 국가와 입국한 국가의 문화가 상이하기 때문에 이러한 문화적거리가 입국 후 ‘문화충격’과 한국 사회 내 ‘진입태도’에 있어서 큰 차이점을 보이고 있다. 둘째로, 문화적거리를 가지는 새터민 청소년들이 한국 사회에 적응하기 위한 방편으로 문화예술교육의 역할 제고 필요성을 알 수 있었다. 북한이탈 및 중도입국 청소년에 대한 문화예술교육의 효과와 두 집단의 공통점․차이점을 도출하였다.
