왕족시조(王族時調)에 나타난 왕족들의 삶과 지향 = The Royal family`s Life and Orientation in the Sijo of Royal family

This essay explores the life and intentions of the royal families revealed to their sijo based on the peculiarities of the royal sijo. Since the sijo was created in various classes, the author was a major criterion of the sijo, and many studies on sijo have been conducted about various writers. However, the study of the royal figures as author of sijo is insufficient. The royal sijo are usually treated on the same level as noblemen`s, but it is not appropriate because their status or aspects of life are different from those of ordinary aristocrats. Therefore, this paper extracted sijo of royal family in < Unabridged Dictionary of Gosijo > and classified thin by the themes, so sought to reveal the characteristics of it by examining the aspects of the works.
Since the royal family were at the center of power and maintaining the royal family was their most important task, works that raise the authority of the royal family or wish for the revival of the nation form a group of works. And since the king`s power is exclusive, the non-king royalty have political limits, and some sijo of them shows frustrating. In addition, Joseon Dynasty was founded on Neo-Confucianism ideology, and the king had to reach a virtuous gentleman, the practice of Neo-Confucianism moral was an important matter for the survival of the nation. Therefore, the royal families of Chosun were characters with the characteristics of the neo - Confucianism, and their sijo clearly shows such an orientation. Other poems show human emotions. There are also poems that show the pleasure of enjoying nature in the nature, and the poetry of separation from family or servant. However, these poems can find the implications in relation to the identity of the royal family.
In this paper, we propose the possibility of establishing royal sijo through these discussions, and try to understand the thematic trends in that and to understand each works.
