      This study reviews the problem of the creation of narrative contents by focusing on the concept of `One Source Multi-use (OSMU)` which is important in the cultural industries, and also suggests the direction of research and education on it.
      OSMU is one of the `diversion` that has always existed in human narrative activities as one of the aspects that the digital revolution has created. Nevertheless, not only is it overestimated, but it has been used as specific and narrow concept only considering the completed works that are popular and successful overlooking the fact that it is narrative. It also focuses on industrial reproduction and marketing rather than `recreation` of it.
      Therefore, it can be used as a kind of production and marketing strategy of the cultural industries, but it is not reasonable to use it as a core concept in setting up research and related education methods or making policies on it. It is because such things must be based on the overall aspect of the act of storytelling and its creative essence. The current OSMU concept is blocking and confusing the research and creation of narratives that are required by the multi-media era.
      In order to improve this problem, literary research needs to pay attention to the overall aspect of storytelling and its style, in particular, the displacement and diversion of archetype in various aspects rather than to focus on established literary storytelling studies. And the education for planning and creation of narrative contents should be centered on raising storytelling competence for development and creation of materials firstly. Secondly, it is necessary to emphasize `situation analysis` and `subject material analysis` for practical story creation and production. Thirdly, it is necessary to make good use of the artistic storytelling method which is already developed by creative education to practical storytelling for contents production. Finally, it is necessary to establish a new genre which has been existed as a `script writing`.
