      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The following two themes were examined in this paper, focusing on the reproduction of the March 1st Movement of intellectuals/workers in the 1920s, with Lee Hee-cheol’s “Euphyeoljo”, Yeom Sang-seop’s “Green Frog in the Specimen Room”, and “Mansejeon”. One is the issue of World War I, the world’s historical background of the March 1st Movement, and the other is the issue of the subject of the March 1st Movement. Lee Hee-cheol and Yeom Sang-seop focused on workers and intellectuals, respectively, and captured the aspects of their appropriation of World War I. This perception of World War I is a rare point for novels at the time. Meanwhile, Lee Hee-cheol cracks the myth of the subject of the March 1st Movement by criticizing hypocritical intellectuals. On the other hand, while Yeom Sang-seop shows the limitations of weak intellectuals, he explores their potential in “Mansejeon”. At the same time, they captured various problems of the oppressed workers and lower classes. In this regard, their literary reproduction of the March 1st Movement is close to the figure of people’s history from below.
