In the age of secularization, missiology department also has been influenced and struggled through secularized mission theorists. Because missiology is concerned on the modern social trends and cultural changes in various ways. Arthur Johnston called it as The Battle for World Evangelism. Since 19th century radical theological issues have attacked biblical concept of mission and have distorted its meaning of mission. They deserted a traditional concept of mission and brought a kind of social evangelism such as larger evangelism. In the secularized age, a task of modern Korean church is to recover the biblical Christian spirituality. It is necessary to study a missionary spirituality of the early church in Acts, because the mission of the early church is a kind of model for the modern church`s missions. Rolland Allen assisted our modern church should return to St. Paul`s missionary methods in early church. In fact, the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts is a basis of understanding on the successful missionary works of early church in Acts. The coming of the Holy Spirit is a blessing to the New Testament Christians in the history of redemption (Acts 2:17-18; Joel 2:28-29), and after that all believers are fully benefited in the presence of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 1:8 Jesus told that the coming of the Holy Spirit makes the early church a missionary church. In a secularized age modern church should return the early church`s missionary method for the effective missionary works. Therefore, we pray that modern missionary can overcome the secularized approach of mission through recovering the missionary spirituality of the early church (Acts 2:17-18).
