대학생의 학업지속 경향성 척도 개발과 양호도 검증 = The Development of Scales on Rating College Students' Academic Persistence and the Analysis of Technical Quality

The purposes of this study are to describe the process for the instrument construction and the development of scales on rating college students' academic persistence and to analyze the technical qualities of the test. The primary goal of this study is to inform professors and students what is needed to freshmen's adjustment process into university and college life.
The scales are tested by 8 specialty group, and finally composed of 106 items, which measures 7 scales, the academic integration and the social integration into college, interaction with professors, career identity, emotional support of home, financial stability, satisfaction degree of college education, acceptance of college's student support service. This study analyzed 657 students' responses from 5 colleges. This study confirms that the scales which this study developed show high concurrent evidence with the academic persistence inventory for Korean university and college students based on various development process. The result of factor analysis shows the evidences based on internal structures of the scales. A range of the Cronbach α of the subscales is from .79 to .91. The average of item discrimination for each subscale is from .52 to .71. The prediction model to determine the possibility of dropout by 6 scales is statistically significant in .05. According to Nagelkerke R², 68.1% of dependence factor variance are explained by this study's regression model. In conclusion, this study confirms that the scales which this study developed are valid and reliable instrument for Korean university and college students to predict their academic persistence.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구에서는 대학생의 학업지속 가능성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 구성하고, 그 가능성을 진단하기 위한 학업지속 경향성 척도 개발의 절차를 소개하고 도구의 양호도를 검증하였다. 이 도구는 5단계의 척도 추출 과정 및 전문가 8명의 자문과 심의를 거쳐 제작하였다. 추출 결과, 학문적 통합성, 사회적 통합성, 교수와의 상호작용, 진로정체성, 가정의 정서적 지원 및 재정적 안정성, 대학교육에 대한 만족도, 대학의 학생 지원서비스에 대한 수용성 등 7개 척도를 선정하고, 106개 문항 구성을 통해 학업지속 경향성을 측정하였다.
5개 대학 1학년 학생 647명 대상으로 검사를 실시한 도구의 양호도 분석 결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 문항내적 일관성 신뢰도 계수 Cronbach α 범위는 .793-905로써 신뢰도가 매우 높다. 둘째, 개별 문항의 양호도를 평가하기 위하여 각 척도 및 하위요인별로 문항 점수와 총점 간 상관계수에 의한 문항 변별도를 구했으며, 평균은 .516-.706으로써 변별도가 높은 편이다. 셋째, 요인분석 결과, 각 척도에 속하는 문항들이 측정하고자 하는 특성을 대체로 타당하게 측정하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 중도탈락 여부를 예측하는 모형은 유의수준 .05에서 통계적으로 의미가 있으며, Nagelkerke R²에 의하면 본 연구에서 설정하고 있는 회귀모형에 의해 종속변수 변화량의 68.1%정도가 설명되고 있다. 다섯째, 본 도구는 학업지속 가능성이 있는 집단과 그렇지 않은 집단에 대한 관찰치와 예측치 간 차이를 보면 86.5%의 높은 정확도를 나타내고 있다.
