외상관련 정서의 확장: 수치심, 죄책감, 분노를 중심으로 = A review of trauma-related emotions: Shame, guilt, and anger

Trauma-related emotions have been mainly discussed as fear, horror, and helplessness since the diagnostic criteria of PTSD as an anxiety disorder have been concerned with such emotions only. However, there is a recent consensus in the research and clinical fields that shame, guilt, and anger, which are referred to as the secondary emotions of trauma, are as important as those primary emotions. In our article, we reviewed the literature on trauma-related emotions with a particular focus on the secondary emotions, and discussed the directions and limitations of research that were conducted to date. We also discussed the importance of sociocultural context of secondary trauma-related emotions, and finally, we introduced the recent attempts to expand trauma therapy based on the importance of such emotions.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

PTSD는 불안장애로 간주되면서 이제까지 외상관련 정서로 두려움, 공포, 무력감이 주로 다루어져왔다. 하지만 최근 상담실무현장을 중심으로 이러한 1차 정서반응 외에 수치심, 죄책감, 분노와 같은 2차 정서가 외상경험자들에게 보편적으로 나타나고 있는 현상에 주목하면서, 외상 관련 2차 정서들에 대한 연구와 치료적 관심이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 외상으로 인한 개인의 다양한 정서적 반응에 대한 지금까지 상담심리학 및 관련분야에서 제기된 이론적 문헌과 경험적 연구들을 개관하고 향후 필요한 외상정서의 연구방향을 제안하였다. 또한 외상관련 정서의 사회문화적 영향의 중요성을 언급하고, 외상관련정서가 갖는 치료적 함의와 치료적 적용에 대하여 논의하였다.
