다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to explore more in-depth experiences and thoughts on support for housing expenses for parents through qualitative research methods. To collect the data, the researcher conducted depth interview with a total of eight parents with independent children from August 13 to September 19, 2019. The results are as follows. 1) Many of the participants in the study provided support for their child’s security deposit of Jeonse or that of monthly rent, and tended to recommend Jeonse as much as possible. 2) It was found that there was a change in the traditional values and consciousness of the homes that the parent generation has had from burden of supporting housing expenses for children.
3) The economic burden of supporting the housing cost of children affected parents' retirement age and psychological anxiety, and reduction of their asset size or undesired downgraded housing movement could be expected. 4) In the future follow-up studies, a more multi-disciplinary academic approach will be needed, such as whether there is a difference in attitudes or perceptions between the two generations regarding the support of the children's housing costs and whether there are any conflicting factors.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 부모세대의 자녀 주거비 지원에 대한 경험과 생각들을 질적 연구방법을 통해 좀 더 심층적으로 탐색해 보는 것이었다. 자료 수집을 위해 연구자는 2019년 8월 13일부터 9월 19일까지 현재 독립한 자녀(19~39세)가 있는 부모 총 8명을 대상으로 심층면접을 진행하였고, 참여자의 사전동의를 얻어 녹음한 내용을 필사하고 자료분석 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 연구 참여자들 중 다수는 자녀의 전세 보증금이나 보증부월세의 보증금에 해당하는 목돈을 지원해 주었고, 가능한한 전세거주를 권유하는 편이었다. 2) 자녀를 위한 주거비 지원과 부담으로 부모세대가 그동안 지녀왔던 집에 대한 전통적 가치관과 의식에도 변화가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 3) 자녀 주거비 지원으로 인한 경제적 부담은 부모세대의 노후대비에 영향을 미치고 심리적으로도 불안감을 주고 있었으며 그들의 자산규모 감소나 원하지 않는 주거 하향이동으로도 이어질 수 있음을 예측할 수 있었다. 4) 향후 후속연구에서는 부모의 자녀 주거비 지원에 두 세대 간의 태도나 인식에 차이가 있는지, 이에 대한 갈등요소는 없는지 등 좀 더 다각적 측면에서의 학문적 접근이 필요할 것이다.
