The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between postpartum depression and parenting stress of mother with infant. The subjects for this study were 238 mothers with infant at 3 months to 7 months. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, Scheff test, t-test, one-way ANOVA and person's correlation.
The subjects' postpartum depression was at a moderate level. There was a significant differences in postpartum depression based on prenatal and postpartum mother's employed states, pregnancy plan. The subjects's parenting stress was at a moderate level. There were a significant differences in parenting stress based on infant' sex, birth order. But no significant differences in parenting stress based on expected infant's sex, infant's monthly year. There were a stativally significant differences in parenting stress based on mother's occupation, prenatal and postpartum mother's employed states. Postpartum depression and parenting stress were found to be positive relationships. The findings of this study may used as the basis for understanding postpartum depression and parenting stress of mother with infant.
