다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis is to introduce and translate Choi-phil-gong-geon「崔必恭傳」 included in Yi-kye-jip『耳溪集』 into korean. Choi Phil-Gong, the hero of this story is one of the influential leaders of Catholic church of Chosun Dynasty in 18th century. He was an intellectual in lower class who led the Catholic church in contrast to the other leaders who were mostly in aristocratic class(兩班層). Under the order of King Jung-Jo(1752-1800), Hong Yang-Ho(1724-1802) very realistically described how Choi Phil-Gong began to believe in Catholicism and how he betrayed the church and converted to Confucianism again. It was very rare to describe a Church leader`s life in literature of that age. Therefore it is need to notice that Choi-phil-gong-geon is not only a significant material to study on but also of precious value in its existence itself.
