The purpose of this study is to find the factors that have influence on child abuse. In order to this, data from a sample of 466 children in Kwang-ju was examined. The selected variables were child abuse, child's personal characteristics, parents' characteristics, familial characteristics, and school characteristics.
The data were analized using Cronbach's a and Pearson's correlation. The findings of this study are the following.
First, sex of the child was significantly associated for the child's personal characteristics.
Second, for parents' characteristics, significantly associated factors were mother's age, parents drinking alcohol, conflict and violence.
Third, for familial characteristics, significantly associated factors were whether the child was from a broken family and economic status.
Fourth, for school characteristics, significantly associated factors were relationship with friend and teacher, and school achievement.
