저항적 연대와 사회변혁 = ‘적대 없는’ 연대에서 ‘적대를 통한’ 연대로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지금 우리는 그 어느 때보다 사회적 연대망이 해체된 시대를 살고 있다. 지난 시절 한국이 경험한 돌진적이고 맹목적인 근대화의 물결은 과거의 전통을 모조리 낡은 것으로 몰아세워 성장과 경쟁의 논리 속에 종속시켰다. 전통은 권위주의의 모습으로만 남아 화폐적 가치만을 숭상하는 물질주의와 결합하여 승자독식ㆍ적자생존의 사회를 만들어내고, 그 사회 속 구성원들은 점점 더 황폐하게 시들어가고 있다. 한국사회가 안고 있는 문제들에 대응하고, 전통적 유대의 해체를 대체할 수 있는 새로운 연대의 원리가 절실히 요청되고 있는 것이다. 하지만 아직 시장만능주의-물질주의가 초래한 사회적 유대의 해체에 대응하는 새로운 사회적 연대의 원리가 모양새를 갖추고 있지는 못하고 있다.
본 논문은 국가와 민족, 시장을 앞세운 연대를 ‘강요된’ 연대로 규정한다. 강요된 연대는 적대가 없는 통합을 강조한다. 이와 반대로 현실을 변화시키고 민주주의, 정의, 인권의 가치를 확장하는 미래지향적 연대는 실재 속에 존재하는 모순을 반영해야 한다. 구조적 모순은 탈구의 경험을 통해 적대로 드러나고 그러한 적대는 기존질서를 향한 비판과 변형의 정치가 출발하는 계기이다. 새로운 연대는 비판과 변형의 정치를 통해 구성되는 것이다. 이것을 ‘적대를 통한’ 연대라고 부를 것이다. 이론적 차원에서 그람시-라클라우 노선을 따르면서 연대를 현실개입을 위한 사회운동정당 모델과 연관 지어 논의할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We are living in the society in which the network of social solidarity has been being broken down. The wave of the onrushing modernization in this country had accused the tradition and customs of being outdated, and had subjected them to the principles of competition and growth. The remained traditions are authoritarian and hierarchical and the such remained, through the mixture with materialistic culture, spread the ideas of winner-take-all and survival of the fittest. As a result, the people have been frustrated and been driven into hopeless circumstance. In this context, there is the desperate need of a new principle of solidarity with which we can not only replace for the form of traditional solidarity but also respond to the above-mentioned social problems. However, the principle of social solidarity coping with market-centered materialistic and consumerist culture is yet to come. This paper defines the solidarity based on the traditional values as "enforced" solidarity, which emphasizes an integration without recognizing antagonisms. By contrast, a futureoriented solidarity through which democracy, justice and human rights could be improved and extended must consider social contradictions in the existing order. The politics of solidarity could fully realize its potential only if it would be developed from those contradictions through antagonisms. It can be called the solidarity "through antagonisms". It might be thought as an attempt to reinterpret Marx though Gramsci, Gramsci through Laclau, and then Laclau through the materialist perspective. These reinterpretation could provide the stepping-stone to the political intervention into the institutional politics.
