경찰행정대학생의 MBTI 성격유형과 핵심역량 = MBTI Personality Type and Core Competence of Undergraduate Police Administration Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The objective of this study is to find the personality types of undergraduate police administration students using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI)'s classification scheme. The subjects were 276 university students in Gwangju-Jeonnam areas of Korea. The data was collected from October through November, 2011 and analyzed by using SPSS Win. package.
The data demonstrated preferences for introversion(I) over extraversion(E), for sensing(S) over intuition(N), for thinking(T) over feeling(F), and for judging(J) over perceiving(P). The four dominant personality types were ISTJ(13.8%), ESFJ(13.8%), ESTJ(10.5%), and ISFJ(9.8%) which accounted for 47.8%. The major decision making styles were SF(31.9%) and ST(65.1%), and action styles IJ(33.7%) and EJ(31.9%). In relation to the temperament types, the most frequent type was SJ(47.8%). Based on the results, the implications of these findings, limitations and directions for future research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 국민의 생명과 재산 및 안전이 위협받는 상황이 빈번해지면서, 경찰서비스의 중요성 및 확대 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 경찰업무는 역할수행을 위하여 대민접촉의 기회가 많기 때문에 자연스레 경찰활동을 담당하는 경찰공무원들로 하여금 친절하고 감성적인 경찰서비스를 전달해 줄 것이 요구되고 있다. 전통적인 경찰활동으로부터 요즈음 지역사회 경찰활동으로 강조점이 전환되어지면서, 지역 사회 주민들과 소통하는 의사소통능력과 갈등해결능력이 경찰공무원들에게 새롭게 요구되고 있다.
이 연구에서는 경찰행정학과 대학생들을 대상으로 MBTI 성격유형과 핵심역량을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 광주전남지역 3개 대학의 경찰행정학과 대학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 후, 그 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, MBTI 네 가지 선호차원에서, 감각형(62.7%)과 판단형(65.6%)이 직관형(37.3%)과 인식형(34.4%)에 비하여 각각 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 행동양식으로 볼 때는 IJ(33.7%)와 EJ(31.9%)가 다른 유형보다 많았고, 의사결정유형으로 볼 때는 SF(31.9%)와 ST(30.8%)가 많았다. 또한 기질로 볼 때는 SJ(47.8%)가 가장 많은 것으로 조사되었다. 16가지 성격유형으로 볼 때는 ISTJ(13.8%)와 ESFJ(13.8%)가 가장 많았고, ESTJ(10.5%), ISFJ(9.8%), INTP(8.3%)의 순으로 나타났다. 주기능으로 볼 때는 감각적 인식형(S)이 30.1%로 가장 많았고, 직관적 인식형(N)이 16.3%로 가장 적었다. 분석결과를 토대로 경찰관의 자질을 습득하고 정신역동적 역량을 개발할 수 있는 방안을 주기능과 연계하여 논의하였다.
