건축 양식을 통해 본 쉐더공 파고다의 역사문화적 이해 = Understanding the historical and cultural significance of Shwedagon pagoda through its spatial and architectural characteristics

This research focuses on the historical and cultural implications of Shwedagon Pagoda by examining the architectural characteristics and transformation of Shwedagon Pagoda. It experiences a variety of cultural hybridization, reconstruction, and transformation of historical and cultural elements as tradition and modern experiences are confronted and integrated in modern history. These changes are reflected in the architectural space of the Buddhist architecture, Shwedagon Pagoda.
Architectural transformation and cultural representation of Shwedagon, which highlight cultural ideas and recognition of Theravāda Buddhist Shwedagon Pagoda by Burmese, correlate to Myanmar Theravāda Buddhist syncretism, embracing materialistic component by spiritual component.
Depending on the historical context, Myanmar people will continue to practice their syncretic at Shwedagon Pagoda, and Shwedagon Pagoda will be imaged based on Myanmar identity. This can be seen as the way Myanmar people maintain their own cultural identity.
