북한 사회주의 체제의 생존 전략과 전망 = Survival Strategy and Prospect of the North Korean Socialist Regime

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study focuses on analyzing and foreseeing North Korean political power and the socialist regime through the social psychology approach. Applying the motivational theory to the case of DPRK, it takes the approach to know the first and urgent needs in gratifying survival and security, distinguishing from human security and national security in security needs. It is possible to satisfy human security only when national security is guaranteed. But if the North Korean government gives undue value to national security in disregard of human security and psychological needs, political power and the socialist regime will be in danger, bringing about political instability by the economic and social instability factors. In order to overcome this challenge, a drastic change of the perception that reform and openness lead to self-destruction is necessary, and spread of the market economy and economic reform are to be attempted. At the same time, North Korea has to recognize lesson from China as well as end of the Soviet Union and East European socialist countries. From the motivational point of view, North Korea has to satisfy psychological needs, human security needs, national security needs in good order.
