한국어 학습자 작문에 나타난 ‘-겠-’의 적절성 연구

The purpose of this thesis is to suggest the usage of ‘-겠(gess)-’ of Korean native speakers to Korean-language learners in order to induce them to use ‘겠(gess)-’ correctly. The starting point of this thesis is from a question why the aspect of usage of ‘-겠(gess)-’ is awkward in the writing of the Korean-language learners?. The learners use ‘-겠(gess)-’ to express the expected situation of the future. However, it is not the proper expression if Korean native speakers are felt the usage is awkward. The proper expression of ‘-겠(gess)-’ in a written language is the usage of ‘-겠(gess)-’ of Korean native speakers, the reference point of target language. At first, if you look into the usage of ‘-겠(gess)-’ of Korean native speakers, they frequently use the form of ‘-겠(gess)-’ combining with the basic form of a predicate right next to it in a spoken language and use the standardized expression such as ‘-다고 하겠(dago hagess-/ -을 수 있겠(eul su itgess-/-기로 하겠(giro hagess)-’ in a written language, especially in academic writing. On the other hand, the Korean-language learners create awkward sentences by using the form of ‘-겠(gess)-’ combining with the basic form of a predicate right next to it even in the academic writing the same as in a spoken language. 국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문의 목적은 한국어 학습자들에게 올바른 ‘-겠-’의 사용을 유도하기 위해 한국어 모어 화자들의 ‘-겠-’의 용법을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 본 논문의 출발점은 학습자들의 작문에 나타난 ‘-겠-’의 사용 양상이 왜 어색한 것인가? 하는 의문에서 시작되었다. 학습자들은 미래의 추측 상황을 표현하기 위해 ‘-겠-’을 사용하였으나 한국어 모어 화자가 보았을 때 어색하다고 느낀다면 이것은 적절한 표현이 아니라는 것이다. 문자 언어에서의 ‘-겠-’의 적절한 표현이라 함은 목표어인 한국어 화자들의 ‘-겠-’의 용법이 그 기준이 될 수 있다. 먼저 한국어 모어 화자들의 ‘-겠-’의 용법을 살펴보면, 음성 언어에서는 용언의 기본형에 바로 결합하는 ‘-겠-’의 형태를 빈번히 사용하고 문자 언어, 특히 학술적 글쓰기에서는 ‘-다고 하겠-/ -을 수 있겠-/-기로 하겠-’과 같은 정형화된 표현으로 사용하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 반면에 한국어 학습자들은 학술적 글쓰기에서도 음성 언어에서와 같이 용언의 기본형에 바로 결합하는 ‘-겠-’의 형태를 사용함으로써 어색한 문장을 생산하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한국어 모어 화자들의 문자 언어에서의 ‘-겠-’ 용법을 기반으로 한국어 학습자들에게 문자 언어에서의 적절한 ‘-겠-’의 쓰임을 제시하고교수해야 함을 주장하는 바이다.
