암환자의 건강지각과 성격 및 가족지지에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Relationship between Health Perception, Personality and Family Support of the Cancer Patients

This study was undertaken in order to investigate main factors that influence upon the health percept of cancer patients by analysing the relationship between their health perception, personality and the family support for them.
The subject of this study were 54 cancer patients and other 54 patients who also had operations with other diseases on their second or third post operation day at the 3 general hospitals located in Kwang Ju City.
The instruments used for study were health perception questionaire developed by Ware to measure health perception, health locus of control developed by Wallston and the others to measures person ality, and the scale developed by rhe researcher with utilizing the references to measure family support.
Data collection was done from August 21 st to September 5th, 1986, by means of quostionare and interview.
The analysis of data was done by use of frequency, X²-test, t,-test, Anova, and Pearson Correlation Coefficient through S.P.S.S program.
The results of this study were as follows :
1. There were no differences in the level of health perception between cancer patient group and general surgery patient group.
2. Cancer patient group had higher level of external locus of control than general surgery patient group.
3. There were no significant differences in the level of perception of family support between cancer patient group and general surgery patient group.
4. There were no correlation between the personality and that of the health perception.
5. It was found that the more family support is the higher the degree of health perception.
