1930년대 전반기 대중극단 레퍼토리의 형식 미학적 특질 연구 = A study on the repertoires and the aesthetics of the format on the popular plays in the half 1930s

This paper makes a review of the repertoires and the aesthetics of format on the popular plays in the half 1930s. And this paper explains the relations between the repertories and Korean popular theater companies in the half 1930s. I studied the repertoires and the aesthetics of format on the six popular plays. This dissertation has been written with a purpose to examine and to understand the repertoires and the aesthetics of format on the six popular plays in the half 1930s. The plays are classified into two pieces. Camellia blossom(동백꽃), Loyalty with tears in the wild(폐허에 우는 충혼), A pair of lovebirds(원앙), and Cotton ball(목화) are the plays who gives us a valued insight on the type both composition and character.
The studies on the repertoires and the aesthetics of format on the popular plays in the half 1930s are very few and confined to some authors. But the studies on the plays in the half 1930s should be supplemented imminently. Korean popular plays in the half 1930s seeks after the harmony of the composition, the characters and the musics, and has a final purpose to suggest the alternative. The study on Korean popular plays in the half 1930s should be gathered in obtaining critical vision including urgent problems of contemporary aesthetics, and in wise critical intervention giving rise to writing a work.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 1930년대 전반기 대중극단의 레퍼토리와 형식 미학을 살피는 데에 목적을 둔다. 또한 이 연구는 1930년대 전반기 한국 대중극단과 레퍼토리의 연관성을 설명하는 데에도 일정 목적을 둔다. 그래서 이 연구에서는 1930년대 대중극단 작품 가운데 여섯 작품을 선정하고 형식 미학적 특질을 밝히고자 하였다.
대상 작품은 크게 두 가지로 나눌 수 있다. <동백꽃>, <폐허에 우는 충혼>, <원앙>, <목화>는 구성과 인물의 관점에서, 당대 대중극의 형식에 대해 가치 있는 통찰력을 제공하는 작품들이다. 이 작품들은 구성과 인물의 측면에서, 당시 대중극의 형식적 특질을 여실히 보여주고 있다. 지금까지 대중극 작품에 대한 (선행) 연구는 매우 희소한 편이다. 따라서 1930년대 대중극의 형식에 대한 연구는 조속히 시행되어야 한다. 이러한 연구를 통해 1930년대 한국의 대중극이 구성과 인물과 음악의 조화를 추구하고 있었음을 이해하고, 그 대안을 제시할 수 있어야 한다. 연구가 진행되면, 그 연구 성과는 비단 1930년대에 국한되지 않고 동시대의 상황에도 적용될 수 있을 것이다.
