The purpose of this study was to examine the cultural psychological perspective in order to understand the deep psychology of Koreans, and to extract five empirical concepts commonly observed in life-world, and to present a discourse on a new counseling structure that is suitable for the cultural context of Koreans by applying the counseling technique of Food Art Therapy. The fundamental psychological characteristics of Koreans presented in this study were considered as symbols that reveal the identity of Koreans, including ‘inner mind’ ‘qi’, ‘jeong’, ‘han’, and ‘chemyeon’. Further verification is needed in various counseling areas to determine their effectiveness.
