서정시에서 영혼(靈魂)의 의미

국문 초록 (Abstract)

서정시의 특징을 한 마디로 할 때 이것은 자아와 세계의 동일성 추구에 있다고 말할 수 있다. 이것은 서정적 자아와 세계 사이에 정서적 교감을 전제로 한 ‘거리의 결핍’을 뜻한다. 이것은 시적 세계가 서정적 자아의 감정에 의해 물들여져 있음을 의미하는 것으로, 시에 나타난 모든 대상들이 서정적 자아의 감정 상태에 동참함을 뜻한다. 즉 사물들이 시적 화자의 인식 선상에서 인간의 자격과 동등한 인격을 부여받아 정서적 동질성을 유지하고 있는 것을 말한다. 이것을 의인관적(擬人觀的) 세계관, 또는 물활론적(物活論的) 세계관이라 부른다. 때문에 시는 사물에도 인간의 인격을 부여하고 영혼이 있다고 믿어 교감하는 모습을 보여준다. 이 점에서 시는 정령숭배의 관점에서 혼과의 소통을 본질로 한다. 혼을 부르는 것이 노래의 본질이자 기능인데, 서정시 또한 그러한 작용을 히는 것이다. 이러한 서정시의 혼의 울림과 작용은 바로 인간 존재의 유한성의 문제를 초월하고자 하는 의도에서 비롯된 것이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 혼의 형식으로 서정시는 오직 혼의 상태가 되는 시간과 영역, 곧 인간의 시점에서 ‘고독’이라 부를 수 있는 상태에서만 창작이 가능하다. 따라서 서정시는 인간의 운명적 고독과 마주하여 인간의 구원과 영원성을 추구하는 욕망에 그 본질적 속성이 있다 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This eassay is~Lyric poetry features, in a word, its pursuit of the identity of the self and the world, which means 'lack of distance' based on the emotional sympathy between the lyrical self and the world. This means that the poetic world is colored by the emotion of the lyrical self, and that all objects shown in the poem participate in that emotion of the lyrical self. In other words, the objects in the poem given with the equal personality with that of human being in the context of the poetic narrator, to maintain the emotional homogeneity. This is called as 'personified world view' or 'animism', Thus, the poem shows the personified objects have the sympathy with soul. In this context, poems has the propensity of communication with soul in terms of the spirit worshipping. Originally, songs have the nature and function of calling out the spirits, while the lyric poetrys do the same things. Such reverberation and work of lyric poetry is originated from the intention to transcend the limitedness of the human beings. In such format related to the soul, it is possible to create lyric poetry in only circumstances where we call it 'solitude' in time and domain. Thus, the essential propensity of lyric poetry lies in the human desire to pursue the salvation and eternity facing the human destiny of solitude.
