This paper presents the control strategy of UPFC for damping of electromechanical power oscillations using a PI control method. The used control variables are Vsey , Vsex , and Qs. The control of Vsey among these variables, related phase of voltage sourse of series inverter of UPFC, is to be effective for damping of power system dynamics.
PSS/E program package is used for simulation of the proposed method, and the model system is the Anderson's 6 bus power system.
