연령차별주의와 노인운전면허 = Ageism and Elderly Driver’s Licenses

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As the traffic accident rate among elderly drivers increases, there are arguments that the government should restrict the driving of elderly drivers in order to ensure road safety. First, this article examines the background of these claims and introduces key issues. Second, among many issues, it focuses on the argument that restricting the driving of elderly people is a form of age discrimination and a violation of the right to equality guaranteed by the Constitution. Third, I will argue that this issue should be viewed in a broader social context rather than simply as a matter of rights and equality. This is because driving for the elderly is not only accomplished at an individual level, but also is a collective achievement accomplished at a social level. From this perspective, I will argue that rather than a exclusive approach that restricts the driving of the elderly, a compensatory approach that guides the elderly's driving in a safer direction be needed.
