The object of the study is a case study of early-childhood art education based on Reggio Emilia Approach. This approach is characterized by performing long-term or short-term projects, multi-symbolic approach, emergent curriculum, documentation and so on.
As a representive of project approach program in child education, this helps children to improve their abilities in many aspects by schematization using various symbolic methods. In addition, this approach is appraised to show a new route in child teaching methods. In circumstances that child art education is regarded merely as a part of child education, we study the understanding of Geggio Emilia Approach considered as an alternative and perform case studies using that approach. In this study, we propose several themes; The concept, characteristics and theoretical specific character of Reggio Emilia Approach, the characteristic of Reggio Emilia Approach in curriculum, the role of Attlielista in Reggio Emilia Approach and issues involved, The effects of this approach on case studies of child art education is also studied. Influences of Dewey, Piajet, Vygotsky, Bruner, Brofenbrenner’s educational ideology and similarities to this approach are contemplated. Further more we discuss the characteristics of ideologies. In Reggio Emilia Approach, the role of Attlielista, art educator located in the center of symbolic approach and emergent curriculum, are deeply considered. From the Reggio Emilia Approach, we perform the onion project, the ant project and fish project, self-portrait project for 7 and 8 year old children, respectively.
