The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's, Pearson's correlation coefficient & stepwise multiple regression, using the SAS program.
The results & conclusions are as follows:
    1. The scores on the hope scale ranged from 51 to 111 with a mean of 84.67(SD:9.41)
    2. The scores on the health promoting behavior scale ranged from 55 to 145 with a mean of 107.91(SD:16.50).
    3. The scores on the quality of life scale ranged from 115 to 243 with a mean of 177.84(SD:25.35).
    4. In the relationship between social-demographic and hope were significant difference in religion(t=4.73, p<.001).
    5. In the relationship between social-demographic and health promoting behavior were significant difference in Age (F=4.91, P<.001) & religion(t=2.83, p<.001).
    6. In the relationship between social demographic & quality of life were significant difference in religion(t=1.66, p<.05)
    7. There were significant correlations among hope, health promoting behavior & quality of life(γ=.50∼.64, p<.001)
    8. The main factors influencing on the quality of life were hope(44%) & health promoting behavior(3%).
In conclusion, the results propose the processes from hope to quality of life through health promoting behaviors and hope intervention program is needed to improve the quality of life in cancer patients.
