초등학교 논술교육 연구: 사례 분석과 글쓰기

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등 교육 과정에서 논술 교육의 실천과 확대가 필요하다는 전제에서 출발한다. 1년차 연구논문 "초등학교 논술교육의 사례 분석"에서는 초등교과과정과 우리나라 초등학교의 논술교육 여건을 분석한 것이다. 초등 교육에 있어서 외형적인 국어 통합 교육만으로는 창의적이고 논리적 사고가 요구되는 논술교육이 절대적으로 부족하다는 것을 비판하면서 이에 대한 논술교육의 필요성을 정립하는 데 연구 목적을 두고 있다. 그리고 2년차 연구논문 "외국의 논술교육 사례 연구"에서 외국의 논술교육은 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지, 외국에서는 논술교육을 실시해온 결과 우리의 논술교육 현실과 어떤 차이성이 있는지를 검토하였다. 논술교육에 있어서 외국 몇몇 나라의 우수 사례에 관한 연구이다. 논술교육이 잘 실시되고 있는 외국의 대표적인 몇몇 나라에서는 이미 초등학교 때부터 평소 수업시간과 숙제를 통해 책을 읽고 주어진 텍스트를 분석해 글 쓰는 것을 끊임없이 훈련한다는 것을 밝혔다. 논술교육에 있어서 글 쓰는 훈련이나 논리적, 철학적 사고 기반이 없이 단기간에 글 쓰는 요령만을 가르치는 것이 아니라 , 그에 앞서 초·중·고 논술교육의 목적을 올바르게 정립하는 것이 더 시급하다는 것을 강조하였다. 그래서 1, 2년차 연구들을 토대로 3년차 연구에서는 초등논술교육이 앞으로 어떤 방향으로 이루어져야 하며, 어떤 부분이 개선되고, 보완되어야 할 것인지를 구체적으로 파악하였다. 아울러 논술교육을 위한 방법론을 제시하였다. 우선 논술교육 방법론의 연구를 위한 첫걸음은 현재의 초등논술교육 상황을 면밀하게 검토하고 분석하였다. 그래서 3년차 연구논문"초등 논술교육을 위한 방법론"에서는 초등논술교육이 앞으로 어떤 방향으로 이루어져야 하며, 어떤 부분이 개선되고, 보완되어야 할 것인지를 구체적으로 파악하였다. 아울러 논술교육을 위한 방법론을 제시하였다. 현재 논술교육에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 시점에서 이러한 연구의 중요성은 크다고 볼 수 있다. 이 연구는 앞에서 지적했던 부분들을 해결해 나갈 수 있는 방법들을 모색하면서 초등학교에서 효율적으로 논술교육을 할 수 있는 구체적인 방법론에 대한 연구가 이루어졌다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 초등 교과과정과 연계한 논술 지도 방법론, 그리고 논술교육을 위한 제도적 방안을 모색하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research presupposes the need to conduct and increase essay writing education in elementary schools' curricula. The research aims to indicate that the integrated education of Korean Language alone at elementary schools are insufficient for essay writing education which requires creative, logical thinking, thereby pointing out the need for essay writing education. In some representative foreign countries where the education system of essay-writing is well established, students have been steadily trained to write an essay already by reading books through the regular class hours and home assignments and analyzing given texts from the elementary course. In addition, school examinations are continuously administered by the manner of an essay-type test. As for essay education. first of all, it's really more urgent for Korea to properly establish the purpose of essay education conducted in the elementary, junior high, and senior high school programs, than to just teach the writing knack in a short period without any writing training courses and logic, philosophical thinking foundation. The first step to study on the methodology of essay education is to meticulously review and analyze the current situation of elementary essay education. And the second step is to examine in detail which direction the elementary essay education should go forward, which part should be improved and supplemented, and suggest a methodology for essay education. As the ncreasing
number of people take interest in the essay education, the importance of this study is deemed significant. This essay is going to research a detailed methodology to implement efficient essay education in the elementary school, as groping for the methods to settle the aforementioned things. Accordingly, this study will grope for an essay instruction methodology connected to the elementary school's curriculum, and an institutional plan for essay education.
