As the digital financial environment advances, the volume and complexity of financial information have surged, driving increased academic demand for visualization research. This study systematically analyzes publications collected from major domestic and international academic databases to identify trends and future directions in financial information visualization. The reviewed literature was classified into four clusters based on research topics and methodological characteristics: Visual Analytics Systems, Cognitive and Behavioral Research, Financial Literacy, and Network and Systemic Risk.
The analysis reveals that financial information visualization research has shown marked quantitative growth since the 2020s, with a notable shift in focus from technology development toward user cognition and behavioral change. This study contributes to the literature by providing an integrated perspective on dispersed research within a Management Information Systems framework and systematically delineating thematic research streams and their methodological characteristics.
