한국 노인전문요양시설의 환경디자인 특성에 관한 사례연구 = A Case Study on Characteristics of Environmental Design for Nursing Home in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to assess nursing homes for the elderly with dementia in Korea and to prepare the knowledge basis to develop design guidelines of nursing home for the elderly with dementia. For this, researcher visited 5 facilities in capital area from June 3 to June 7 in 2004 and collected data by observations, interviews, and visual materials by taking photographs. The visual materials were analyzed according to the NEAP(Nursing home environmental assessment Procedure) of seven analysis standards. The analysis results are like the following. First, the spatial structures of those facilities take on the type of a small group residence that has a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a bathroom and where ten to fifteen the elderly with geriatric diseases lead independent lives neighboring to one another. Second, the designs of them tend to focus on amenity, supportiveness, and cognitive effectiveness but to leave much desired in social interaction and safety.
