기업의 사회적 책임과 사회적 기업 발전방안에 관한 연구 = A Study on Corporate Social Responsibility and Development of Social Enterprise

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회적 기업이란 기본적으로 영리를 추구하면서 일자리 창출 및 사회서비스 제공의 사회 목적을 가지고 있다. 영리성과 사회성의 두 가지 상반되는 목적을 동시에 가지고 있는 사회적 기업이 치열한 시장경쟁에서 성공할 수 있기 위해서는 정부의 육성정책이 필요하다. 사회적 기업이 뿌리내린 선진국에서는 지역사회를 기반으로 자생적으로 사회적 기업이 성장했지만 우리나라의 사회적 기업의 여건은 아직 정부 주도적 성향을 가지고 있다. 사회적 기업이 정부를 대신해서 취약계층의 고용을 창출하고 공익적 성격의 사회서비스를 제공하므로 어느 정도 자생력을 갖추고 정착하기까지는 정부의 지원이 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. Ideally, CSR policy would function as a built-in, self-regulating mechanism whereby business would monitor and ensure its support to law. CSR-focused businesses would proactively promote the public interest by encouraging community growth and development, and voluntarily eliminating practices that harm the public sphere, regardless of legality. But a corporation's purpose is to maximize returns to its shareholders. Some people perceive CSR as incongruent with the very nature and purpose of business, and indeed a hindrance to free trade. Those who assert that CSR is contrasting with capitalism and are in favor of neoliberalism argue that improvements in health, longevity and/or infant mortality have been created by economic growth attributed to free enterprise A Driver of CSR is the role of independent mediators, particularly the government, in ensuring that corporations are prevented from harming the broader social good, including people and the environment. Governments should set the agenda for social responsibility by the way of laws and regulation that will allow a business to conduct themselves responsibly.
