다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article aims to quantitatively examine the effects of the varieties of capitalism(VoC) on green house gas(GHG) emissions in a comparative political economy. I set up a research hypothesis through a theoretical discussion on the VoC and a review of existing research on GHG emission factors. The hypothesis of this study is that the environmental technology innovation activities of coordinated market economies(CME) countries rather than liberal market economies(LME) countries will be effective in reducing GHGs. Using timeseries cross-section data on 20 OECD countries from 1992 to 2012, I assess the effects of the VoC on GHG emissions. As a result, it is found that CME countries significantly reduces GHG emissions than LME countries. In addition, I hope that this study will lead to a more active research linking the varieties of capitalism approach with climate change issues.
