    Oil in water microemulsion which has the pharmaceutical application of parenteral nutrition was prepared and evaluated.
    A novel homegenizer, microfluidizer has been used for the preparation of soya oil and safflower seed oil/water emulsion, using egg lecithin as emulsifier and glycerin to produce isotonic condition.
    The effect of number of passes, operating temperature and operating pressure on the microfluidization was studied.
    Emulsion droplet sizes were smaller and distributions narrower when the microfluidizations were performed at higher temperatures and hight operating pressures and when further processing.
    The effect of autoclaving on the stability of microemulsion was studied.
    The evaluation parameters of the stability were particle size, pH and peroxide value.
    The change in particle size of oil droplet and peroxide value of oil were not occured during autoclaving, but the bulk pH were fallen from 8.7 to 7.4.
