      This study is probe into how the physcal environment of Kum Gang has an effect on the poetic imagination. The study confirms that Kum Gang as a poetic subject materializes the image of personal or daily life experience, the image of framing village or hometown, the Archetypal image of the river itself, and the image of historcal consciousness associated with the Kindom of Baekche and Donghak Rebellion. In the writing of poet of Chungbook region, the first two categories are easily found while the natural and historical condition of Chungbook area. Chungbook, compared with Chungnam and Chungbook, actually has no matinstreams of Kum Gang. And Chungbook failed to maintain a strong national identity as political base of Baekche.
