영유아 정서 발달을 위한 애착 인형 개발에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Development of Attachment Dolls for Infants’ Emotional Growth

This study is a theoretical examination of the “support and donation for the manufacturing of attachment dolls” as an alternative solution for children’s emotional instability due to fosterer variables that proposes to address this social issue through facility donations via crowd funding. Disadvantaged families with infants are experiencing economic and emotional hardship under the COVID-19 pandemic. An environment that nourishes healthy relationships between fosterers and children during infancy is necessary for their healthy cognitive and emotional growth. Dolls, a visual-tactile medium that enhances children’s emotional communion, fills out the absence of the fosterers as “transitional objects” similar to Linus’ Blanket. This social phenomenon coupled with theoretical considerations led us to manufacture functional attachment dolls based on theories of infant development in order to support the stable emotional growth of transitional-stage infants from broken homes during the time when children develop intimate bonding relationships. We also presented plans for facility donations as well as manufacturing and support for attachment dolls for families with infants via crowd funding, and established a system for doll character development and brand identities and encouraged public interest and support via “Tumblebuck” crowd funding platform. We expect this study to enhance support for families with infants, indicate that intellectuals, instead of corporations or government, can be the party responsible for resolving social issues, and serve as an educational basis for social responsibility and design.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 영유아 애착 대상에 대한 이론적 고찰로 양육자 변인에 따른 아이의 정서불안 문제를‘애착 인형제작 후원 및 기부’를 대안으로 제시하며, 크라우드 펀딩을 통한 시설 기부로 사회문제 해결에 이바지함을 목적으로 한다. 코로나 19로 소외계층의 영유아 가정은 경제적 정서적 어려움을 겪고 있다. 특히 아동기 건강한 인지·정서적 발달을 위해서는 영유아 시기에 양육자와 아이 간의 건강한 관계 형성을 위한 환경이 조성되어야 한다. 아이의 정서적 교감을 높이는 시각·촉각 매체인 인형은 라이너스의 담요와 같은‘이행대상(transitional objects)’의 역할로 양육자의 가정 내 자리 비움을 대신하게 된다. 이러한 사회적 현상과 이론적 고찰로 결손가정의 과도기적 상태인 영유아의 안정적 정서 발달에 도움이 될 수 있도록 아이가 친밀한 정서적 유대 관계를 보이는 시기에 맞춰 영유아발달 이론을 바탕으로 한 기능적 애착 인형 제작하였다. 또한, 크라우드 펀딩 플랫폼을 통해 영유아 가정을 위한 애착 인형제작 및 후원으로 시설 기부를 기획하고, 인형 캐릭터 개발과 브랜드 아이덴티티 시스템 구축으로 크라우드 펀딩 플랫폼 ‘텀블벅’에서 후원과 사회적 관심을 독려하였다. 본 연구가 영유아 양육가정에 응원이 되고 사회문제 해결의 가치를 지닌 주체가 기업, 국가가 아닌 지식인들의 사회적 책임으로 대변할 수 있음을 알리는데 연구적 함의가 있으며, 사회적 책임과 디자인 교육을 위한 기초자료가 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
