다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

Following the foundation of the new state in 1923, the political and economic history of modern Turkey has been focused on adaptation to developments in Europe. Turkey has given priority to becoming a member of various European organizations since World War Ⅱ.
Within this Framework, Turkey and the European Union (EU) concluded a historic accord on March 6.1995 to establish a Customs Union with a view to further economic integration in line with the stipulations of the "Ankara Agreement". This Agreement, signed on September 12,1963 between Turkey and the European Economic Community (ECC), was the first step along the road to economic integration.
Taking into consideration Turkey's strides towards European integration, the signing of the Customs Union will be a historic event, greatly enhancing and strengthening Turkey's application for full European Union membership. Turkey applied to the European Community for full membership on April 14, 1987.
The Customs Union will bring reforms in the economic, political and social fields in Turkey, not only lifting customs barriers, but also paving the way for political integration.
In the event that the European Parliament approves Turkey's entry to the Customs Union on December 14, 1995, the scheduled voting day, the customs Union will come into force on January 1, 1996.
