인문․사회과학의 융복합 도구로서 내러티브 과학의 생성과 실천

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간의 경험과 삶의 문제를 해명하는 데에 관심을 두는 인문사회과학(human societal science)의 학문적 발전 양상은 주로 분과학문의 전문화와 연구방법상의 경도된 인식론의 흐름에 치우쳐서 많은 문제를 발생시키고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제가 무엇인지, 왜 그 문제가 발생하는지, 문제를 해결할 수 있는 실마리는 무엇인지에 대하여 보다 종합적으로 살펴보았다. 지금까지 많은 선행연구들 역시 기존 주류 학문의 패러다임과 방향에 대한 대안적인 방안들을 제시해놓고 있다. 하지만 그 대안들 역시 많은 한계가 있다는 점이 학술적으로 다양하게 논의되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 대안적인 방법을 체계적으로 비판, 분석하여 보다 새로운 방안을 제시하였다. 그 방안은 우선 기존의 흐름과 방향을 수용하면서 기존의 패러다임을 넘어서는 전략을 제시하려고 하였다. 그 방안은 인간 경험과 사회의 본질에 대한 내러티브 인식론(narrative knowing)에 근거하는 것이다. 이 근거에 기초하여 기존 인문사회과학을 통합 할 수 있는 '내러티브 과학(narrative science or)'의 학문적 체계를 탐색해보고, 그 이론적 응용적 분야를 발견하여 보다 행복하고 배려하는 사회를 창안하는 데에 생산적인 학문적 도구를 창출하고자 시도하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research intends to explore the possibility and implication of narratology, narrative-based science. This narrative science, narratology as a disciplinary field implies new titles of alternative human-societal science. But this means beyond title of old fashioned human science. The existing humanities and social science has its many shortcomings and limitations. It tends to separate the human and society as a subject of inquiry. The limits could be an obstruction to reflect the actual situation and context in doing scientific inquiry. The narrative science focuses human’s experience and the process of meaning making. It can be a powerful alternative way for overcoming a dichotomous problem of existing humanities and social science perspective. In narratology, the process of meaning making consist with an interaction of the human’s experience and society’s experience. Narrative science, suggested in this research, can provide alternative ways to better understand human and society. We should focus on new narratology based on meaning making and cultural (or narrative) pychology. Narrative knowing is new tool for making new science and discipline.
