The purpose of this study is to investigate the satisfaction of residents for disaster safety and to measure the resident’s awareness and demand for education of disaster safety in Chungcheongbuk-do. The study aims to build a basic dataset to explore customized policies based on the demands of residents would be victims when disaster occurs. To that end, A survey of 1,556 Chungbuk residents was conducted to measure general awareness of disaster safety, expectations of rescue and support, willingness to participate in emergency response, disaster safety threat factor, disaster understanding, preventive efforts, disaster education and experience awareness.
The results of this study could be used as a basis for monitoring system to examine changes of satisfaction about disaster safety of residents. In addition, it is expected to be used to establish a policy of disaster and safety for the residents, away from the uniform ways of policy or business method.
