아동이 지각한 수치심, 죄책감 및 상담자 개입이 치료적 관계에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of shame and guilt perceived by children, and counselor's intervention on therapeutic relationship

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines how the level of shame and guilt perceived by children and counselor's intervention are related to the therapeutic relationship perceived by children. To do this, we collected cases of school children who have come to counselors for personal counseling (play therapy) due to emotional, behavioral and social problems. The data we analyzed are from 36 sets of children and counselors (36 children and 18 counselors), and the children responded to the shame and guilt survey before the session we videotaped--that is, after the previous session. In analyzing counselors' intervention, we used Seong-Ho Cho's four rating scales (1997)-directiveness, depth, interpersonal climate and destructiveness of counselors' intervention-to rate the videotaped sessions. And the therapeutic relationships were assessed by children after the session. These analyses show that the shame perceived by children is related to negative emotional relationship, and the guilt to cooperative relationship. The stronger the shame the children perceived, the more negative emotions they felt. And the stronger the guilt they perceived, the more cooperative they felt about the relationship with the counselor. As for the counselors' intervention, children with shame were not influenced by it but those with guilt may be influenced in the emotional relationships with the counselor.
