주자의 교육사상 = Chu-Ja`s Educational Thoughts

This study has tried to analyze systematically Chu-Ja`s educational thoughts and to place his philosophy on the modem education in Korea. However, a small number of prominent scholars have tried to investigate Chu-Ja`s system of philosophy in their various ways. Therefore his thoughts much need for our educational situations, and his thoughts and practices on education must to deal with synthesis and analysis. Now days, as an urgent problem of modem education which frequently pointed out of human alienation, is the time of transmission of the tradition and innovation The real meaning of educational innovation is depend upon the earth of tradition. Modernity may rests on firm restoration. As outstanding characteristics of Neo-Confucianism should be based on humanity. Without human subjectivity, that ideology could not stand. Hence, Neo-Confucianism always meditate human self identity and integrity through catch hold of truth by independently. The first is dealt with the background of Chu-Ja`s philosophy. The second is dealt with his unique educational thoughts and practices; as on the personality theories, on the harmonizing relationship theory between Heaven and Human being(天人合一). The third is dealt with his educational thoughts and learning theories, including 1) general the theories of education 2) main conceptual educative thoughts; Kyeong(敬) and kyeogmulchigi(格物致知). This concept treated with theoretical and practical aspects. The fourth is designed with my assessment of Chu-Ja`s thoughts and educational method and historical meaning and its suggestions for the Korean educations.
