The goal of music education in elementary school is make students experience music and experiencing music means experiencing rhythm, time, melody and harmony of music through the mental and physical movement of student.
That is, the music education of elementary school aims to form a desirable personality and develop creativity through music as well as playing simple musical instruments and enjoying music.
Therefore, the harmonized personality should be made and the basic culture to be a desirable democratic citizen should be cultivated through the development of the latent musicality and creativity based on the various musical experiences.
In particular, the education of instrumental music accompanies the muscular and motor sense as well as audible and visual functions and also has more desirable characteristics in experiencing music than singing, writing and appreciating. The purposes of teaching instrumental music are to satisfy the man's desire for playing musical instruments, improve their ability to play them and develop their playing skills.
Since the period from childhood to elementary school is the most sensitive period, it is difficult for us to develop great musical ability beyond this period and the period of elementary school reveals more remarkable cognitive and music educational features compared to that of middle and high school. Then if a gradual approach through the programs of the appropriate level is given, students' musical ability can be greatly improved.
Accordingly, this study focuses on "Do teachers give what kind of experiences 개 students with what purposes and process', researches the various methods that students who were isolated from learning music can participate in music education by giving them an interest in music and playing musical instruments suitable to their level and developmental stage, seeks the gradual ways to teach elementary school students how to play musical instruments effectively and then obtains the following conclusions of gradual approaches of teaching musical instruments.
1. Since the students in lower grade like to imitate and have non-abstract thinking, guidance by concrete musical instruments and textbooks was effective and the praise of their trivial behaviors could achieve a great educational effect. Since they have developed large muscle than small muscle, it was more effective to make guidance of using waist, knee, shoulder, arm and leg and teachers must select, organize and teach educational contents suitable to students' developmental stages by considering their psychology, interests and educational side.
2. Since the guidance of students in middle grade must consider individual gaps and ensemble guidance is possible, ensemble guidance after teaching the basic skill should be focused, singing after listening, reading books and playing the instruments should be cultivated and the sense of melody and harmony should be developed.
3. Since the guidance of students in higher grade must consider the development of students' logical thinking and the possibility of independent learning, ensemble guidance should be done. Since they have a difference in the development between man and woman, the guidance suited to the developmental level of male and female students is required and since their weight and chest are developed and have good breathing condition and wide musical range, teachers must seek a suitable teaching method.
In addition, the basic guidance to play the various musical instruments should be done in elementary school and the opportunity to express should be given to them. For these, the administrative authority must invest in music education, schools must establish the direction of music education for the future and support teacher's musical training and school management to present the vision for future music education and support for music teachers are very urgent.
