한국어의 ‘이다’와 아랍어의 ‘كان(kaana)’ 대조 분석 = A Contrastive Study of Korean ‘Ida’ and Arabic ‘Kaana’

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고의 목적은 한국어 '이다'의 특성과 아랍어 “كان”(kana)의 특성을 비교하는 것이다. 이 논문은 “كان”(kana)에 대한 문법 연구와 '이다'에 대한 연구를 검토한 후, 서로 다른 관점을 정리하고 '이다'와 “كان”(kana)의 특성을 비교하여 두 구조의 유사점과 차이점을 분석하였다. 비교분석 결과, “كان”(kana) 기능동사는 문장에서 물리적으로 표현되지 않아도 인지적으로 구현될 수 있는 형이상학적 의미를 지니고 있음이 확인되었으며, 이는 '이다'의 연구에서 고려되지 않았던 측면이다. '이다'와 “كان”(kana)모두 시제와 화법을 나타내며 (명사가 나타낼 수 없는 문법적 성분이므로), 문장 구조를 보조하여 변화를 주는 역할을 한다. 한편, “كان”(kana) 구문의 두 번째 요소는 대체로 술어로 간주되지만, '이다' 구문의 동일한 성분은 가설에 따라 해당 범주에 대한 논쟁이 존재한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this paper is to compare the characteristics of the Korean ‘ita’ and the characteristics of the Arabic ‘kaana’. The paper attempted to organize the different perspectives of the ‘ita’ and ‘kaana’ and then compare these perspectives’ findings to find similarities and differences between the two. In conclusion, both ‘ita’ and ‘kaana’ show many similarities but also some differences. The comparison also shows that ‘kaana’’s function which is realized cognitively without it having to physically appear in the sentence was not considered in research of ‘ita’ as a metaphysical meaning of the functional verb. Both ‘ita’ and ‘kaana’ aid the sentences they appear in with the inflection of different grammar components as the sentences are composed of nouns that are not suited to reflect tense of action or speech act. But whereas ‘kaana’’s phrase’s second compound is usually considered a predicate, the same component in ‘ita’’s phrase has a lot of debate on its class depending on the theory.
