다문화 윤리교육의 쟁점과 방향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 다문화교육 일반론이 아니라 도덕과의 특성을 반영한 다문화교육의 설계와 적용이 중요하다는 전제 아래, 다문화 윤리교육이 무엇이고 어떤 연구 영역을 포함해야 하는가에 대해 논의하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 우선 본 연구에서는 다문화 윤리교육을 ‘(윤리학 및 정치철학에 근간을 둔) 다문화 윤리학을 바탕으로 다문화적 맥락에서 발생하는 다양하고 복잡한 윤리적 이슈와 사건을 활용하여 윤리적 탐구 능력과 성찰적 태도를 함양하고, 타인 및 타문화에 대한 존중과 배려를 실천할 수 있는 도덕적 동기 및 실행력을 길러주기 위한 교육’으로 규정하였다. 그런 다음, 다문화 윤리교육의 연구 영역을 ‘다문화 윤리학 차원의 쟁점을 다루는 기초 영역’과 ‘도덕과교육의 목적을 위해 다문화교육을 활용하기 위한 응용 영역’으로 나눈 후, 각 영역별로 제기될 수 있는 질문에 대한 답변을 찾는 데 연구의 초점을 맞추었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Under the premise that it is very important to design multicultural education based on the characteristics of moral education as a subject matter and apply it to moral education classrooms, this article tries to define the concept of multicultural ethics education, investigate its research domains and answer critical questions posed in these domains. For the purposes, firstly, this article defines multicultural ethics education as education for not only developing intercultural ethical inquiry and reflective attitudes using moral dilemmas and ethical issues in a multicultural context, but also cultivating moral traits such as moral motivation and moral will to respect and care for people from other cultural backgrounds. Besides, this article devide research domains of multicultural ethics education into two major parts ― a basic domain that deals with philosophically and educationally essential issues in the field of multicultural ethics education and an application domain to meaningfully use multicultural education for the purpose of moral development and education. An then, this article tries to answer several questions posed in these two domains.
