      The purpose of this study is to clarify the focus of school curriculum inquiry by the analysis of the 7th national curriculum amendment documents. The most important arguments in this study can be summarized as follows: First, national common-core curriculum is newly began in the 7th curriculum to keep step with international tendency which lengthen the basic period of education and to intensify the level of citizens` culture. But the reason why the learning in 10 school subjects should be completed in a fixed grade uniformly was`nt clarified yet. Second, curriculum differentiation in the 7th amendment has much limitation to seek for the excellence of all learners. The focus of curriculum differentiation in the 7th curriculum amendment is related to curriculum management rather than the levels of knowledge which should be taught in school. Third, some problems of discretional activities were discussed. The discretional activities are divided into `subject discretional activities` and `creative discretional activities` in the 7th curriculum amendment. But such a point of view can`t be consistent with the general vision of the 7th curriculum which strengthen the upbringing of creative persons on the basis of basic abilities. Also, the educational ideal which intends the fostering of creative capacity through the academic subject-matter education can`t be harmonious with such a point of view. To improve the general remarks of national curriculum, the consideration of certain knowledge and abilities which are to be achieved by all learners should be investigated more throughly. And the main task of the general remarks of curriculum should be changed to include the educational meaning and practical guidings about such knowldedge and abilities in teacher-friendly style.
