The present study was carried out to investigate the effects of ranitidine on gastric acid secretion and serum gastrin in rats. The results were obtained as follows: 1) Aspirin plus ranitidine group was revealed decrement in the volume of gastric juice compare with that of control or aspirin group.2) In the pH of gastric juice, ranitidine group and aspirin group were moderately increased and aspirin plus ranitidine group was significantly increased in compare with control group. Aspirin plus ranitidine group had higher pH of gastric juice than aspirin group. 3) In the acid output of gastric juice, aspirin plus ranitidine group was moderately decreased in compare with control group and significantly decreased compared to aspirin group. 4) There was no difference between control group and ranitidine group in serum gastrin.
