China is emerging as a new regional great power. Based on rapid economic development, China has built up comprehensive national power since China`s reforms and open door policy. Along with enhancement of Chinese comprehensive national power and international influence, China is confronting a lot of frictions and controversial disputes with other countries such as China Threat theory. From the perspective of the neighboring countries, the rise of China can be called both opportunities and threats. In a word, the rise of China influencing on the international affairs is the key issue in the 21st century. In the Post-Cold War era, the multilateral diplomacy is China`s diplomatic key strategy. Asia is a necessary stronghold for China to be a new world power. It also includes important regional countries for China spread mutilateral diplomacy and regional cooperation. One of the rapidly emerging arenas of China`s new foreign policy is Central Asia. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) is an intergovernmental international organization founded in Shanghai on 15 June 2001 by six countries, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. SCO is the first regional multilateral organization largely initiated and promoted by China. This article focuses on the factor of China`s strategic interest toward the SCO in the three fields; political, economic and security.
