마태 공동체(교회)의 성전 중심 고기독론 = The Temple-Centered High Christology of Matthew’s Community(Church)

This study aims to investigate the high Christological concern of Matthew embedded in his understanding of the Temple. Although scholars have paid more attention to why there are ambivalent attitudes toward the Temple and whether the Temple is replaced by either Jesus or Ekklesia, this study focuses on the relationship between the Temple and Jesus’ identity in Matthew’s community. In consideration of the previous scholarship to focus on the high Christology in the Synoptic Gospels and the new definition of monotheism, this study proposes that Matthew’s community has the temple-centered high Christology to regard Jesus as the Lord God and the son of David. Jesus is the divine one superior to the Temple(12:6).
In conclusion, Matthew’s Jesus plays a role as the divine one in the temple-related passages of the Gospel in which the following five themes are confirmed: 1) the fulfillment of Immanuel through Jesus(1:21-23), 2) Jesus’ Divine Identity in the Temple(21:1-23:36), 3) Proclaiming the judgment upon the Temple(23:37-24:2), 4) Sitting on the throne of his glory at the eschatological temple(19:27-30; 25:31), 5) the one with the authority of heaven and earth to be worshipped (28:16-20).

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지금까지 마태복음의 성전 이해가 성전에 대한 상반된 태도와 교회 혹은 메시아를 통한 대체신학적관심으로 이루어졌다는 사실을 살폈다. 하지만 이러한 관심만으로는 성전과 관련된 마태복음의 다양한 이해를 충분히 설명하지 못한다. 본 연구는 마태복음의 저술 목적에 부합하는 해석을 위해 메시아 이해와 성전 이해를 관련짓고 있다. 또한 ‘새종교사학파’에 의해 제기된 공관복음서의 고기독론 가능성과 유대교의 유일신 이해에 대한 수정된 이해를 통해 마태의 고기독론적 관심을 본문 해석에 적용했다. 마태만이 견지한 “성전보다 더 큰 이”(12:6)로서의 예수 이해가 성전 중심의 고기독론을 어떻게 지지하는지 살폈다.
성전의 가장 큰 의미인 하나님의 임재와 관계성 확보를 특징으로 고려할 때 다음의 다섯 가지 특징은 마태의 성전 중심 고기독론을 지지한다. 1) 예수을 통한 임마누엘의 성취(1:21-23), 2) 성전에서 드러난 예수의 신적 정체성(21:1-23:36), 3) 성전을 향한 심판 선언(23:37-24:2), 4) 종말론적 성전의 영광의 보좌에 앉는 이(19:27-30; 25:31), 5) 하늘과 땅의 권세를 가진 자로 예배의 대상(28:16-20)이 되는 예수의 정체성은 지금까지 관심이 된 성전 관련 연구들을 재고하고록 도전하다. 성전에 임재해 이스라엘 백성들에게 말씀하며 심판을 선언한 하나님의 정체성이 예수에게 확대되어 마태의 성전관, 교회론, 기독론에 반영되어 있다.
