청소년 자원봉사활동이 자아존중감과 사회성에 미치는 효과 = The effect of volunteerism activity on the teenagers' self-esteem and sociability

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 자원봉사활동이 청소년들의 자아존중감과 사회성에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다.
이를 검증하기 위한 연구 가설은 다음과 같다.
<가설 1> 자원봉사활동이 청소년들의 자아존중감 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 것이다.
<가설 2> 자원봉사활동이 청소년들의 사회성 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 것이다.
연구대상자는 전라북도 ○○시에 소재하고 있는 고등학교 1학년 남학생 60명을 대상으로 실험집단 30명과 통제집단 30명을 선정하여 자아존중감과 사회성에 대한 사전검사를 실시하고, 실험집단을 대상으로 자원봉사활동을 3월부터 11월까지 월 1회(4시간씩)씩 9회 실시한 후 사후검사를 실시하였다.
연구 가설을 검증하기 위한 검사도구는 자아존중감 검사와 사회성 검사로, 자아존중감 검사는 최보가와 전귀연(1993)이 청소년을 대상으로 개발한 자아존중감 검사를 본 연구대상에 적합하게 연구자가 수정·보완한 것을 사용하였고, 사회성 검사는 김동환(1992)이 제작한 사회성 검사 영역 중에서 예비검사를 통하여 타당성이 확보된 자율성, 근면성, 사교성, 안정성, 책임성, 지도성으로 재구성된 것을 사용하였다.
자료처리를 위한 통계분석은 SPSS/PC+ 10.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계 및 실험집단과 통제집단간의 차이를 사전검사 점수를 공변인으로 하여 일변량분산분석을 통하여 검증하였다.
이 연구의 결과 중요한 사항은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 자아존중감은 실험집단에서 평균 3.34, 통제집단에서 평균 3.11으로 사전 자아존중감검사 점수를 공변인으로 처리한 경우 자원봉사활동에 따른 학생들의 자아존중감 변화는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다(p<.05). 이러한 결과는 ‘자원봉사활동이 학생들의 자아존중감 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 것이다’ 라는 <가설 1>이 지지되었다.
사회성은 실험집단에서 평균 3.54, 통제집단에서 평균 3.27으로 사전 사회성 검사 점수를 공변인으로 처리한 경우 자원봉사활동에 따른 학생들의 사회성 변화는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다(p<.01). 이러한 결과는 ‘자원봉사활동이 학생들의 사회성 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 것이다’ 라는 <가설 2>도 지지되었다.
따라서 자원봉사활동은 청소년들의 자아존중감과 사회성 향상에 매우 중요한 영향을 주는 것으로 자원봉사활동의 교육적 활용이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research is tendencious though volunteerism activity verifies effect on teenagerses' self-esteem and sociability.
Research hypothesis to verify this is as following.
<hypothesis 1> Volunteerism activity may cause affirmative effect in teenagerses' self-esteem elevation.
<hypothesis 2> Volunteerism activity may cause affirmative effect in teenagerses' sociability elevation.
Research target person did to first-year boy students in 60 high school who is locating in Chon-buk NamWon city.
Execute preliminary inspection about self-esteem and sociability choosing 30 experiment groups and 30 control groups, and post test executed after volunteerism activity 9 times by 1 month(4 hours) from March to November to experiment group.
An examination tool to verify research hypothesis did as self-esteem public prosecutor and sociability public prosecutor.
Self-esteem examination is thing which Choeboga and Jeongwiyeon (1993) develop to teenagers, self-esteem examination investigator in research target person properly correction supplement .
Sociability examination used a sociability examination tool that Gimdonghwan(1992) manufactures, sociability examination area used thing which is reconstructed by preliminary examination that propriety is defined through Autonomy, Diligence, Sociality, Stability, Responsibility, Guidance.
Statistical analysis used SPSS/PC+ 10.0 programs, and hypothesis verification verified by preliminary inspection point on covariant element and verified through one side amount analysis of variance.
Result important item of this research is as following.
First, self-esteem showed by average 3.11 in average 3.34, control group in experiment group. As statistical it was meaning students' self-esteem change by volunteerism activity(p < .05).
This result is that is causing effect that volunteerism activity is affirmative in students' self-esteem elevation.
Second, sociability appeared by average 3.27 in average 3.54, control group in experiment group. As statistical it was meaning students' sociability change by volunteerism activity(p < .01).
This result is that is causing effect that volunteerism activity is affirmative in students' sociability elevation.
Therefore, educational practical use of volunteerism activity is judged to need that cause effect that volunteerism activity is very important teenagerses' self-esteem and sociability improvement.
