기후변화가 노년기 건강과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향: 기회와 도전 = The Impact of Climate Change on Health and Well-Being in Later Life: Opportunities and Challenges

국문 초록 (Abstract)

후변화는 고령자의 건강과 삶의 질에 다층적이고 복합적인 영향을 미치며, 이에 대한 관심과 대응의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문은 기존 문헌을 종합적으로 고찰한 문헌고찰 연구로, 기후변화가 노년기 건강과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 기후변화가 노년층의 신체 및 정신건강과 삶의 질에 미치는 주요 영향을 분석하고, 이를 완화하기 위한 사회적정책적 대응 전략과 그 한계를 논의하였다. 특히, 본 연구는 고령자의 기후 적응력 강화를 위한 교육과 정책 지원, 세대 간 협력의 중요성을 강조한다. 아울러 노년학 연구자들이 고령자의 기후위기 취약성을 명확히 인식하고, 인식 제고와 실천 역량 강화, 정책적 개입 촉구를 통해 환경 지속 가능성과 건강 형평성을 실현하는데 기여해야 함을 제안한다. 본 논문은 기후변화와 인구 고령화가 초래하는 복합적 위기에 대응하기 위한 통합적 연구와 정책 개발의 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.

This paper examines a comprehensive review of existing literature on the impact of climate change on older adults’ health and well-being and provides strategies to mitigate these effects, highlighting limitations in current responses. It emphasizes the need to strengthen older adults’ adaptive capacities through targeted education, policy support, and intergenerational collaboration. Gerontological researchers are called to recognize older adults’ climate vulnerability, raise public awareness, foster behavioral engagement, and advocate for inclusive policies. An integrative framework is proposed to guide future research and inform health and social policy development at the intersection of climate change and population aging.
