일반논문 : 보육교사의 영유아문제행동 인식 및지원전략과 실행수준 = Childcare Teachers` Perceptions of Problematic Behavior of Infants and Young Children and Their Support Strategies and Implementation Levels

국문 초록 (Abstract)

영유아기에 나타나는 다양한 문제행동은 유아의 조화로운 성장과 발달에 부정적인 영향을 미치기 때문에 조기에 체계적으로 개입되어야 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 보육교사가 인식하고 있는영유아의 문제행동과 대응전략을 탐색한 것이다. 이를 바탕으로 보육현장에서 영유아의 문제행동에 효율적으로 대처하기 위한 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 본 연구는 보육교사 261명을 대상으로영유아문제행동에 대한 보육교사 인식 수준과 지원전략의 실행 및 중요도 인식을 파악하기 위해설문조사를 실시하였고, 실제 교육 현장에서의 문제행동 유형에 따른 지원전략의 실행 내용과수준, 그리고 문제행동 지원의 요구를 파악하기 위해 후속 면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과 보육교사는 영유아의 공격적 문제행동을 가장 큰 문제로 인식하고 있었고, 문제행동을 지원하기 위한보육교사의 긍정적 예방전략 사용과 조기개입의 중요성에 대해서도 인식하고 있었다. 또한 보육교사는 영유아의 문제행동을 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 방안으로 1) 문제행동 지원을 위한 시간확보와 노력을 기울일 수 있도록 업무 및 잡무 경감이 필요하고 2) 효과적인 행동지원 및 문제행동 관리를 위해 보육교사 대 아동의 비율조정을 제시하였다.

Infants and young children exhibit a variety of problematic behavior, which has negative influences on their harmonious growth and development and thus requires early systematic interventions. The purpose of this study was to investigate childcare teachers` perceptions of problematic behavior of infants and young children and their response strategies, thus proposing ways to deal with their problematic behavior efficiently in the field of childcare. A survey was conducted with 261 childcare teachers to figure out their perceptions of problematic behavior of infants and young children and of implementation and importance of support strategies. The survey was followed by an interview to understand the implementation content and level of support strategies in the field of education according to the types of problematic behavior and the supportive needs for problematic behavior. The findings show that childcare teachers considered the aggressive problematic behavior of infants and young children as the biggest problem and recognized the importance of their usage of positive preventive strategies and early interventions to support problematic behavior. They also proposed the following measures to support the problematic behavior of infants and young children effectively: 1) their duties and miscellaneous works should be reduced to secure time and make efforts to support problematic behavior; and 2) the ratio of childcare teachers and children should be adjusted for effective behavioral supports and problematic behavior management.
