증산계 신종교운동의 역사와 사상적 변천에 대한 조명 = A Study of Historical Change of Jeungsan-Affiliated New Religious Thoughts and Movements

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국 근대시기 증산계열 신종교 운동은 강증산에 대한 강력한 신앙체계를 중심으로 이후에 수많은 분파교단을 발생시켰다. 또한 일제치하에서 민중 민족 운동을 주도하고 전국적인 신도를 확보한 신종교로서 많은 부침을 거듭하였으며, 오늘날에도 여전히 활발한 종교활동을 하고 있는 증산계 신종교는 많은 학자들로부터 연구의 대상이 되어왔다. 본고에서는 이와 같은 증산계 신종교운동의 역사와 사상적 변천에 대한 문제를 중심으로 그 현황과 개요를 살펴보기로 한다. 본문의 제2장에서는 먼저 증산계 신종교 운동의 역사를 개괄해 보기로 한다. 본고에서는 총 130여개의 교단에 대하여 계파도를 그리고 그 발생과정을 계열별로 분류해 보기로 한다. 본 문에서는 총 6대 계열로 나누어 분류하였다. 제3장에서는 개별 교단의 역사를 배경으로 그 사상적인 변천과 특징을 찾아보기로 한다. 여기서는 지금까지의 모든 증산계열 종단의 사상적 특징을 특별히 여섯 가지의 사상적 범주를 설정하여 개별교단의 교리를 각각 분석해보는 것이다. 제4장에서는 앞에서 다룬 교단의 역사와 사상적 변천을 놓고 증산계 신종교 운동이 여타 한국 신종교에 비해 두드러진 특징을 찾아보았다.
본 연구는 이전까지 진행되어 왔던 현황조사연구를 충실히 종합하고 반영하되 정보의 단순나열을 지양하고 새로운 분류틀을 제시함으로써 일종의 객관적 연구를 시도하는데 있다. 또한 사상적 측면에서 포괄적으로 서술하기 위해 범주화를 시도하였으며 이로 인해 개별교단의 정체성이 나름대로 조명되는 계기가 되리라 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Jeungsan-affiliated new religion movements had generated the numerous denominations with a strong belief system toward Kang Jeung-san. Also the religion movements had taken leads in the national racial movements under Japanese colonial era and have gone the ups and downs as a nationwide religions.
Jeungsan-affiliated new religions, which are still making the spread, have still been are studied by many researchers. This research aims to review the present conditions and the outline of Jeungsan-affiliated new religions focusing on the history and the ideological transition. In chapter 2, the history of Jeungsan-affiliated new religion movements are summarized. The schema of more than 130 religious body faction’s and their generation processes are categorized into 6 affiliations. In chapter 3, the individual ideological characteristics and transitions are reviewed based on their historical backgrounds. The individual faction’s doctrines are analyzed in 6 ideological characteristics. In chapter 4, the uniqueness of Jeungsan-affiliated new religions are derive. This research has it’s own value to offer the objective classification system to categorize the Jeungsan-affiliated new religions.
