2011년 싱가포르 산업연관표의 작성을 통한 카지노산업과 타산업의 생산,고용유발효과 비교 분석 = Comparative Analysis of Induced Production and Induced Employment by Industry in Singapore

This research compared induced production and induced employment of each industry in Singapore using Input-Output Tables 2011 and Input-Output analysis. Input-Output Tables 2011 and Employment Table 2011 of Singapore are estimated. It aims to evaluate performance of casino policy from 2010 in Singapore, where gambling has been outlawed from 1965 till 2010. Singapore Government permits integrated Resorts(IRs) including casino as a new driving force in economic growth although there are concerns that such social costs as gambling addiction and relevant crime will be paid. As a result of the empirical analysis WHOLESALE & RETAIL TRADE shows the highest level of induced production, 17,313 million S$ out of additional 10,000 million S$ of its final demand. CASINO generated the fourth highest induced production of 13,625 million S$ among 11 industries by 10,000 million S$ of final demand. The results of the empirical analysis also showed that Other service brings 164 people of induced employment out of 10,000 million S$ of final demand, and Accommodation and Food service 151people/10 million S$. CASINO presents the seventh highest induced employment of 33people/10 million S$, which is lower than other service industry, among 11 industries by 10 million S$ of final demand. The results present that Singapore Government accomplished a certain level performance in induced production form casino, not in induced employment. The policy of the Singapore government for CASINO have not archived its purpose for employment in this stage.
